Terms of Service

Service terms. Slovak law, EU jurisdiction.

These terms govern use of sopho.tech, the Sophotech s.r.o. website. They do not govern engineering engagements — those are documented in separately negotiated Master Service Agreement (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW), and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) instruments per engagement.

What this page covers

These terms apply to anyone reading or otherwise using sopho.tech and the public content published there. They do not cover:

  • Engineering engagements — scope, fees, deliverables, timelines, warranties, indemnities, confidentiality, and IP ownership for any service Sophotech delivers are set out in the engagement-specific MSA, SOW, and NDA, not on this page.
  • Personal data processing — described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Cookies and browser storage — described in the Cookie Policy.

Use of this site

Permitted use of sopho.tech and its content:

  • Read, link to, share, bookmark, print, or screenshot any page for personal, business, or editorial use.
  • Quote site content with attribution to Sophotech for legitimate purposes — procurement review, journalism, research, internal evaluation.
  • Submit inquiries through the contact form and applications through the careers form.

Not permitted:

  • Scraping or automated access at a scale that materially burdens the site or its form handler.
  • Republishing entire pages or substantial extracts as your own work.
  • Reverse engineering server-side code or systems beyond what a browser exposes by default.
  • Removing copyright, attribution, or licence notices from any content.
  • Using the Sophotech name or marks to imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation that has not been agreed in writing.

Services

Sophotech s.r.o. is a European engineering company. Service areas include cloud and platform engineering, Kubernetes, GitOps, FinOps, and compliance work. Services are delivered under engagement contracts (MSA + SOW) negotiated separately for each engagement.

Nothing on this site is an offer to contract, a binding commitment by Sophotech, or a guarantee of a specific outcome. The publicly listed service catalogue describes what Sophotech is willing to scope; the actual scope of any engagement, and the obligations attached to it, live in the signed MSA and SOW for that engagement.

Intellectual property

Site content — text, graphics, page layouts, embedded code — is © Sophotech s.r.o. unless attributed otherwise. "Sophotech" and the Sophotech word marks are the property of Sophotech s.r.o. Third-party content (vendor logos in the technology section, the embedded anti-spam widget, etc.) belongs to its respective owners and is used under fair-use or licensed terms.

Open-source contributions made under the Sophotech GitHub organisation are governed by each project's own licence, not by these terms.

Disclaimers

Site content is general and informational. It is not legal, engineering, financial, or compliance advice for any specific situation. Sophotech reviews content but does not warrant that every detail is current or applies to your environment. Engagement-specific guidance, recommendations, and deliverables happen inside an MSA and SOW where Sophotech engineers analyse actual systems and context.

Pages may contain typographical or factual errors. Sophotech may correct them without notice. Where a detail on this site conflicts with a signed engagement contract, the engagement contract governs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Slovak and applicable EU law, Sophotech s.r.o. is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive — including without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, lost business opportunities, or reputational harm, arising from or in connection with:

  • use of, or inability to use, sopho.tech, including any service interruption, downtime, or unavailability;
  • errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or out-of-date information in any content published on the site;
  • actions taken or decisions made in reliance on site content;
  • third-party content, services, links, embedded widgets (including the anti-spam widget), or websites referenced from sopho.tech;
  • viruses, malware, or other harmful code transmitted through, from, or in connection with the site;
  • unauthorised access to, alteration of, or interception of data transmitted to or from the site.

This applies regardless of the legal theory — contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise — and applies even if Sophotech has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The site is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or non-infringement.

Where Slovak or EU law prohibits exclusion or limitation of liability — including for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, harm to life or health, or any consumer right that cannot be waived — this clause does not waive what cannot be waived; the rest of the clause remains in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.

This clause governs liability arising from use of the website only. Liability under separate engagement contracts (MSA, SOW, NDA) is governed by the limitation, warranty, and indemnity terms in those contracts.

External links

sopho.tech embeds a third-party anti-spam widget (Cloudflare Turnstile) and links to external resources — browser cookie controls, social profiles on GitHub and LinkedIn, the Slovak Data Protection Authority, vendor pages cited in the technology section, and others. The widget and those sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Sophotech does not endorse third-party content or sites.

Updates

Sophotech may update these terms. Material updates are reflected in the "Last reviewed" date below. Continued use of sopho.tech after an update means you accept the updated terms. Questions about a change go to the contact email below.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Slovak law. The competent courts of Bratislava have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from website use. Engagement contracts may specify their own governing law and dispute resolution.
